Massive Fire Engulfs Westminster Flat, Captured in Striking Citizen Footage

A dramatic fire broke out on May 23, 2025, in a sixth-floor flat of a seven-story building on Rochester Row in Westminster, London. Footage filmed by Samuel Davies (@LordSamuelChop) shows intense flames and billowing smoke pouring from the building, just moments after the blaze erupted.
The London Fire Brigade deployed ten fire engines and around 70 firefighters to tackle the inferno. The video quickly drew national media attention, picked up by outlets including the Daily Mirror, MyLondon, Storyful, and Spectee—highlighting the growing role of citizen journalism in covering breaking urban emergencies.
