In this village in Jiexiu City, a red sprinkler robot spews water at full speed across a wheat field. The machine was developed by a local agricultural machinery company, with each machine capable of watering up to about 6.7 hectares of farmland a day. Plus, its irrigation radius can be adjusted to achieve precise watering. Local farmers say previously, they used channels to irrigate their wheat fields. But as the drought persisted, the robots proved to be a more efficient irrigation method. The wheat planting area in Jiexiu City totaled roughly 2,900 hectares this year.
