Protesters clashed with National Guard troops and police forces in downtown Los Angeles on Sunday (June 8).

A video filmed on Broadway shows National Guard troops firing flash grenades to disperse protesters.

Julia Sanchez, 30, who filmed the video, said : "At around midnight, there were maybe 20 or 30 protesters lingering on Broadway. "

"The cops formed a line and began advancing slowly on the small crowd. "

"I was in shock and disbelief at the amount of force they were using. "

"There was no need for them to even be there. There were so few protesters left, it felt like they were just adding fuel to the fire. "

"I was also shocked that they so clearly sent the fireworks towards us as we were in our homes quietly recording and taking photos of what was going on."
