Several thousand French people gathered on Monday June 09 and in the days that followed, including today, in support of the Palestinian people and the members of the Freedom Flotilla, in response to a call from left-wing political parties.

Among the highlights was the presence of Asma, a young Palestinian refugee who arrived in France a few days ago, who sang in front of a packed Place de la République, moved to tears. The moment went viral on social networks.

At the end of the evening, tensions broke out between the demonstrators and the police, who wanted to evacuate the French people present on the Place de la République. Joined by left-wing deputies from La France Insoumise, many finally decided to take over the square and stay overnight. This movement is scheduled to last until the end of the blockade of Israel, and continues today.
