Tempered Glass Table Shatters Under Toddler at Print Shop in Jiangxi, China
On June 6, a terrifying moment was caught on camera inside a print and advertising shop in Jiujiang, Jiangxi province.
A shop owner had just placed her young grandson on a tempered glass countertop when the glass suddenly shattered beneath him. The loud crash startled both the grandmother and the child, who burst into tears.
Thankfully, the toddler was not injured. The grandmother said she had placed him on the glass just minutes earlier to practice crawling—making the incident all the more frightening in hindsight. She has since contacted the manufacturer seeking an explanation for the unexpected breakage.
This dramatic incident highlights concerns around safety and material reliability, especially in everyday settings.
