Bulgaria: Procession "NO to EUR currency now! Resign!" takes place in Sofia

Sofia, Bulgaria - June 08, 2025 Thousands of protesters gathered against the introduction of the euro currency in Bulgaria. The protest was organized by political party "Vazrajdane / Revival". Protesters also demanded the resignation of the government, which is forcibly bringing our country into the eurozone. The procession passed through the central streets of Sofia and attempted to pass by the European Commission and European Parliament buildings, but was stopped by the police. Early European Central Bank and the European Commission published their reports, according to which Bulgaria meets the technical requirements for membership in the eurozone and can introduce the single European currency from January 1, 2026.
