-MADRID, SPAIN - JUNE 14, 2025: Demonstrators in 125 cities across Spain gathered to show solidarity with Palestine on Saturday, June 14. Thousands took to the streets waving Palestinian flags and carrying banners that read “Free Palestine,” “There is no peace without justice,” and “Stop genocide.” In Madrid, a manifesto was read aloud outside the Reina Sofia Museum, featuring signatures from prominent artists including film director Pedro Almodovar, actor Jose Sacristan, authors Elvira Lindo and Benjamin Prado, actress Malena Alterio and musicians Rayden, Miguel Poveda and Silvia Perez Cruz. Since early March, Israel has blocked all border crossings into Gaza, cutting off vital humanitarian aid despite warnings from relief agencies of imminent famine among the enclave’s 2.4 million residents. Israel has ignored international calls for a ceasefire, continuing its military campaign in Gaza since October 2023. Palestinian authorities report that over 55,200 people, mostly women and children, have been killed in the offensive.
