This is the heartwarming moment a woman surprised her two lesbian mums with a pregnancy reveal during Pride Month.

Miriam Fried, 33, captured the emotional moment as she told her mums Stephani Fried, 69, and Sally Sharp, 73, that they are going to be grandmothers.

Miriam said she waited to share the news in person and timed the reveal for Pride Month to celebrate her family's legacy of love.

Miriam, a business owner and personal trainer from Brooklyn, New York, said: "There's been so much negativity lately."

"I just wanted to share a really positive moment of queer joy."

"Pride Month has always been important in our family."

"I went to my first Pride when I was one year old."

"It's not just a celebration, it's a reminder that queer joy matters and this was one of the most joyful moments of my life."

Stephani and Sally have been together for 45 years and raised Miriam at a time when same-sex parenting was still uncommon.

Miriam said: "My mums have been together for 45 years and when they first met, the idea of gay couples having kids let alone grandkids was almost unthinkable."

"They were so emotional. "

"They've been waiting for this moment for a long time."

Miriam, who is 17 weeks pregnant, FaceTimes her mums, who live in New Jersey, every day but didn't want to break the news over the phone.

Miriam said: "I really wanted to tell them in person."

"You can see in the video they sort of had an idea, a mother's intuition."

"It's such a special thing to be able to include my mums in this milestone especially knowing how rare it is to see older queer couples as grandparents."
