Baltimore, United States - June 15, 2025 U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Baltimore District crews began removing protective roadway plates and asphalt along the U.S. Army’s 250th Birthday parade route right after the June 14 event. More than half of the plates were removed by Monday morning. Small holes from plate anchors are being patched. The removal process will continue overnight until all Army vehicles leave by June 17. Visual assessments are underway to evaluate the infrastructure damage mitigation plan. Officials report the protective plates worked as intended. They expect minimal to no additional roadway repair costs. Subsurface inspections will occur in the coming weeks with the National Park Service and Federal Highway Administration.
