Storyline: Overseas Chinese nationals have evacuated from Iran or are considering fleeing into neighboring countries as the air war between Israel and Iran entered its fifth day on Tuesday, raising fears of a widening conflict. In a major escalation of regional tensions, Israel launched large-scale airstrikes early Friday, killing several military commanders, scientists, and dozens of civilians. Iran responded with retaliatory strikes later that day, and the exchange of fire still continued. The Chinese Embassy in Iran has issued an evacuation notice listing border points for entry into Türkiye, Armenia, and Turkmenistan. The embassy has released multiple advisories in recent days, urging Chinese citizens to increase safety precautions and closely monitor developments. Iran's airspace remains closed, and the embassy cautioned that the country's land border crossings may also close in the near future. Wang Renzhi, an overseas Chinese who runs a factory in Jolfa City of northwestern Iran's East Azerbaijan Province, is mulling leaving Iran together with several other Chinese nationals. He is working hard on planning the route and purchasing plane tickets. Wang said that the situation in the industrial park is relatively safe, but even so, drone attacks just a few days ago raised concerns. The Iranian government is currently implementing a fuel rationing policy, meaning each car is only allowed to refuel with 10 to 20 liters of gasoline at a time, making intercity or inter-provincial travel very difficult. Many people coming from other provinces to the border areas have to wait in line for fuel for hours each time. This significantly increases the difficulty for those trying to leave Iran. We considered Türkiye, Azerbaijan and Armenia. In the end, we chose Armenia because it's the closest. Also, many Chinese citizens have already successfully entered Armenia, so far us, it should be the most convenient and straightforward route." 4. Wang checking passports 5.
