What started as a quick stop for gas turned into a life-changing moment for one tiny kitten and her unexpected heroes.

On their way to a weekend camping trip, Andy Sweetland and his fiancée heard a sound from the parking lot. It was a 1-pound kitten being pecked at by magpies, struggling and alone.

They scooped her up and brought her along for the weekend, joined by their cat Theo, who helped welcome the furry newcomer into the fold.

They named her Junipurr, and while it’s still uncertain whether she’ll be a permanent part of the family, one thing’s for sure: she’s finally safe.

Got gas before camping on Friday. Heard something that caught my attention. It was a little 1lb kitty being picked at by magpies. There’s no part of me that was capable of turning a blind eye to it… so here we are. She spent the weekend in the bush with my fiancé, our cat Theo and I. Don’t know what the next step will be. She may be staying, but if she doesn’t we’re making sure she ends up in a place she deserves to be… but for now, say Hi to Junipurr
