Firemen cut through a PVC gutter pipe to save a kitten stuck inside.

The team rushed to the narrow alley at a market when vendors reported hearing a crying cat for four days in Sa Kaeo province, Thailand on February 8.

Footage shows the volunteers using a power grinding tool to make a hole in the thick plastic downspout where the creature was trapped.

A rescuer scooped the white kitten out of the pipe when there was enough space for them to pull it out.

One of the volunteers Buntham Anusin said: ‘The people asked us for help because they could not find where the cat was. A young Cambodian worker who lived nearby said she had been hearing it cry for four days.'

The firemen took the kitten back to their station to feed and clean. It was unhurt but starving upon being found.

Buntham added: ‘The cat was a survivor. It had been inside the pipe with nothing to eat. Now we will make sure at the station that the cat will be taken care of well.'

The creature would be staying at the fire station until someone volunteers to adopt it.
