TEHRAN, IRAN - JUNE 22, 2025: Following US strikes on three nuclear facilities in Iran, large crowds gathered at Tehran’s Enghelab (Revolution) Square on Sunday, June 22, demanding continued attacks on Israel and retaliation against the United States. Iranians from various segments of society, many accompanied by their children, waved national flags and chanted slogans expressing anger toward the US and Israel. Demonstrators carried posters of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei while frequently chanting: “We will fight, we will die, we will not surrender.” President Masoud Pezeshkian also joined the crowds in the square, receiving warm greetings from the participants. Speaking to Anadolu, demonstrators described the US attack as a direct threat to Iran’s sovereignty, stressing the need for a unified national response. US President Donald Trump said early Sunday that his forces bombed three Iranian nuclear sites in Fordo, Natanz, and Isfahan. The attacks came as the latest escalation in a US-backed Israeli military assault on Iran since June 13, prompting Tehran to launch retaliatory attacks on Israel. Israeli authorities said at least 25 people have been killed and hundreds injured since then in Iranian missile attacks. Meanwhile, in Iran, 430 people have been killed and more than 3,500 wounded in the Israeli assault, according to the Iranian Health Ministry. Reporting by Eisa Mohammadi // Writing by Mustafa Tuncer
