Terrified boy waves toy wand to summon superhero only for real earthquake to strike in China
On June 23, a magnitude 4.3 earthquake struck Qingyuan City in Guangdong Province.
Home surveillance footage from a local resident shows a young boy waving a magic wand at home, repeatedly making gestures as if summoning Ultraman. Just as he finishes a dramatic move, the ground begins to shake—perfectly syncing with his “summon.” Frightened, the boy immediately turns and runs.
Afterward, the boy’s father said that his son mistakenly believed he had actually summoned Ultraman, thinking the earthquake was caused by Ultraman’s arrival.
