Terrifying flash floods sweep cars into river as torrential rain batters central China

From the evening of June 30 to the early morning of July 1, Xianfeng County in Enshi, Hubei Province, was hit by heavy rainfall. Footage shows torrents of floodwater raging through the streets, with numerous vehicles swept into the river.

At 6 am on July 1, Xianfeng issued a red alert for torrential rain. The heaviest rainfall occurred in the urban area, reaching 264 millimetres.

According to the Enshi Prefecture Water Resources Bureau, parts of Xianfeng County have experienced temporary communication and power outages. Over 15,000 residents have been evacuated so far. There are no reports of casualties at this time, and the extent of property damage is still being assessed.
