Humanoid robot receives certificate during high school graduation ceremony
This is the amusing moment a humanoid robot received its certificate of completion during a high school graduation ceremony.
Footage shows Shuang Shuang, the automaton, marching toward the stage carrying an empty tote bag at the 25th Shuangshi High School graduation in Fujian, China.
The robot can be seen stepping into position in front of the teachers seated on the podium on July 1.
One of the faculty members can be seen standing up and approaching the moving machine.
The man and the bot shook hands, prompting applause from the crowd before he placed the small certificate inside its bag.
The pair then posed for a photo in front of the students.
Humanoid robots have become increasingly popular and were widely exhibited in China recently for their agility and utility.
Human and animal-like robots are being developed in several countries, with China and the United States leading the 'tech arms race.'
A military-style robot dog was even seen protecting President-Elect Donald Trump in Florida earlier this month.
Eccentric billionaire Elon Musk, who played a prominent role in Trump's recent U.S. election victory, recently presented Optimus, describing it as a multi-functional assistant capable of handling household chores, playing with children, and assisting with various repetitive tasks.
