Firefighters set trees ablaze to create firebreaks and halt the spread of the Nenana Complex wildfire in Alaska.

Footage shows controlled torching of selected forest sections affected by the blaze, carried out on July 4.

Authorities explained that this deliberate burning clears underbrush and debris, creating a barrier to prevent the flames from advancing further.

The Nenana Ridge Complex fire was first discovered on June 19, approximately 20 miles southwest of Fairbanks.
