VARIOUS OF WILDFIRE / FIREFIGHTERS ON EXTINGUISHING EFFORTS (NIGHT SHOTS)LATAKIA, SYRIA - JULY 11, 2025: The forest fire that began on July 3 in the Bayirbujak region of Syria’s Latakia province continues to intensify on its 10th day on Friday, July 11. Although the fire has been brought under control in dozens of locations, the flames are currently advancing from the village of Acu Su toward the Turkish border. Firefighting efforts are ongoing, with dozens of teams battling the blaze on the ground and various aircraft deployed from the air. The Kesep border crossing and the Latakia road are intermittently being closed due to the fire.
