The attack occurred around 1:00 p.m., according to local sources. The assailants intercepted the commander’s vehicle and fatally shot him at the scene. Commander “Nitro” is the 43rd police officer killed in Sinaloa in the past 10 months amid ongoing internal violence between rival factions of the Cartel de Sinaloa.
