The action was organized by the Union of Container Handling Workers of Greece (ENEDEP), the Communist Party-affiliated labor group PAME, and the Piraeus Workers’ Union, with participation from unionists, students, and pro-Palestinian supporters. Chanting “Freedom for Palestine,” the demonstrators voiced opposition to the transfer of steel that they claimed would be used for military purposes.
