STATEMENT BY SENAD SEJDIC, HEAD OF KREKA MINE UNIONSARAJEVO, BOSNIA-HERZEGOVINA - JULY 21: More than 500 miners staged a protest in the capital, Sarajevo, on Monday, July 21, demanding regular wages and better pension conditions. Gathering in front of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina government building, the miners said they have not received their salaries for May and June and that their retirement benefits are now at risk. Senad Sejdic, head of the Kreka Mine Union in Tuzla, told reporters that miners — who play a crucial role in the country’s workforce — are not being treated fairly. “For two or three months, there have been no salaries. The ones we do get come late, which is pushing our pensions into a deadlock,” Sejdic said. Local media reported that a group representing the miners entered the government building for talks.
