Helpful pet dog collects money from restaurant customers
A clever pet dog has taken on the role of cashier at a restaurant to collect money from customers on behalf of his owner.
The mixed-breed brown male dog, Cocoa, 5, was found helping its owner at a made-to-order noodle restaurant in Ang Thong, Thailand, on July 20.
Cocoa usually stood near customers, waiting for them to hand their payment over before taking the cash to his owner, Laddawan Chanhom, 48, to put in the till.
Footage shows the diligent canine helper gently taking the banknotes into his mouth, then walking over to a busy Laddawan seen cooking dishes in the kitchen.
Laddawan said that Cocoa was abandoned in front of her shop when he was young, and she adopted him out of pity.
She said: 'Cocoa is such a clever, gentle, and friendly dog. I started training him to pick up banknotes after seeing my daughter tease him with some money. He seemed like he wanted to play, but to my surprise, he just held the notes in his mouth without tearing them.'
She added that fond customers would feed Cocoa meatballs as a puppy whenever he delivered their money to Laddawan.
The proud pet owner added: 'My dog is a big help when I'm too busy in the kitchen. He listens to the customers and understands when it's time for them to pay.'
