US, Los Angeles: Santa Clarita CHP Fights Off 2 People While Giving CPR After Body Found
Los Angeles, United States - July 24, 2025 07/23/2025 08:15 pm GMT-0700 SANTA CLARITA, Calif. – A homeless person is dead after CHP officers, who were flagged down, administered CPR and fought off two other transients attempting to stop them from performing lifesaving efforts — all of this in a remote, brush-filled area of Santa Clarita. The incident began around 8:15 p.m. when CHP officers were flagged down near the intersection of Magic Mountain Parkway and Tourney Road by someone reporting a medical emergency. Officers followed the call for help to a heavily vegetated area near the Iron Horse Trailhead, just north of Magic Mountain Parkway and east of Interstate 5. There, they found an unresponsive person and immediately began CPR. While attempting to administer aid, officers were confronted by two individuals described as transients who reportedly tried to fight them and prevent the officers from continuing lifesaving measures. Officers were forced to radio for urgent backup due to the remote location and escalating situation. Responding to the call, Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station deputies and additional CHP units rushed to the scene to assist. Despite continued resuscitation efforts, the person was declared dead by paramedics shortly after. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department has since taken over the investigation into the death. The identities of those involved have not yet been released.
