... KHANAQIN, DIYALA, IRAQ - JULY 25, 2025: Temperatures soaring to 50 degrees Celsius (122°F) disrupted daily life in Iraq’s Diyala region, particularly in the town of Khanaqin, on Friday (July 25).

Streets and public spaces remained largely deserted during peak hours.

Local residents said the extreme heat has forced them to stay indoors during the day, venturing outside only in the early morning or late evening to avoid the blistering temperatures.
