Storyline: AI galvanizes China's steel industry [Voice_over] Artificial intelligence is accelerating the transformation of China's steel industry, making it smarter, greener, and more efficient. Xingcheng Special Steel, an industry model manufacturer located in east China's Jiangyin City, is using an AI detection system that can identify defects as small as two hundreds of a millimeter in 0.1 seconds. [Sound_bite] Wang Yongjian, Deputy general manager, Jiangyin Xingcheng Special Steel Works Co., Ltd.: "The furnace temperature prediction model independently developed by us can offer real-time data about temperature, pressure, composition, and air volume. Thanks to AI technology, the black boxes of blast furnaces have been 'transparent' for us. The '5G plus Industrial Internet' platform regulates thousands of processing parameters in real time, just like equipping the traditional steel factory with a thinking 'nervous system.'" [Voice_over] In Shanghai meanwhile, China's largest third-party steel trading platform ZG Group is using AI technology to manage over 10 million transaction messages per day with a parsing accuracy rate exceeding 95 percent. The AI based platform can also review the qualifications of 20,000 vehicles and manage more than 400,000 logistics trajectories. [Sound_bite] Gong Yingxin, Senior vice president, ZG Group: "By using AI technology, the drivers' waiting time has decreased by 12 percent and carbon emissions have dropped by eight percent." [Voice_over] Currently there are 29 steel enterprises across China that have been designated as "intelligent" manufacturing demonstration factories, 18 of which are recognized as "outstanding".
