Jerusalem, Israel - July 27, 2025 Authorities in East Jerusalem have filed serious charges against a 30-year-old man following a violent assault on a public employee. The incident occurred inside a local office in the Abu Tor neighborhood on July 17, after a dispute between the victim and the assailant’s wife, who works at the site. According to police, the woman left the office following the disagreement and called her husband. He then entered the premises, physically attacked the manager, and brandished a knife at him before fleeing the scene. Responding officers found the victim with light injuries. The suspect was quickly located and arrested by officers from the Oz police station. Following a thorough investigation, prosecutors filed a formal indictment against him. Police emphasized their zero-tolerance stance toward all forms of violence and intimidation, vowing continued firm action to ensure public safety in all spaces.
