GAZA, PALESTINE - JULY 30, 2025: Footage by Anadolu Agency shows the step-by-step airdrop of humanitarian aid over Gaza from a military aircraft, capturing the entire operation as supplies were parachuted into the blockaded enclave amid Israel's ongoing blockade.

Anadolu's freelance cameraman took part in an airdrop aid operation over the Gaza Strip conducted on Wednesday, July 30.

Cameraman Ahmed Shoura boarded a military cargo plane that took off from King Abdullah II Air Base in the city of Zarqa, Jordan, to document efforts to airdrop humanitarian aid by parachute over the Gaza Strip.

Humanitarian aid supplies loaded onto two aircraft belonging to the air forces of the United Arab Emirates and Jordan were airdropped over central Gaza.

Israel has maintained a blockade on Gaza for 18 years, and since March 2 has sealed all border crossings, blocking the entry of humanitarian aid and worsening already dire conditions in the enclave.

At least 147 people have died of starvation since October 2023, including 88 children, according to Gaza’s Health Ministry.

Palestinian officials say that a minimum of 500 aid trucks are needed per day to meet the needs of the territory’s 2.4 million population.

The Israeli army has pursued a brutal offensive on Gaza since Oct. 7, 2023, killing over 60,000 Palestinians. The relentless bombardment has devastated the enclave and led to food shortages.

On Monday, Israeli rights groups B’Tselem and Physicians for Human Rights-Israel accused Israel of committing genocide in Gaza, citing the systematic destruction of Palestinian society and the deliberate dismantling of the territory’s healthcare system.
