VARIOUS OF PALESTINIANS TRYING TO GET SOME HUMANITARIAN AID SUPPLIESGAZA, PALESTINE - AUG. 26, 2025: Efforts to airdrop humanitarian aid into the blockaded Gaza Strip continued Tuesday, Aug. 26, as Palestinians gathered in the central city of Deir al-Balah to reach supplies parachuted from military cargo planes. Crowds of Palestinians, waiting for hours under the scorching sun, rushed to the aid parcels once they were dropped from the sky. Some managed to collect the limited supplies, while many others left empty-handed. The humanitarian airdrops come as Israel’s ongoing assault and blockade on the Gaza Strip push the besieged enclave deeper into a humanitarian catastrophe. Israel’s full blockade of the Gaza Strip, in place since early March, has created catastrophic conditions for the enclave’s 2.4 million residents, leading to famine, widespread disease, and the collapse of essential services. Israel has killed nearly 63,000 Palestinians in Gaza since October 2023. The military campaign has devastated the enclave, which is facing famine. Last November, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza. Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its war on the enclave.
