...GAZA STRIP, PALESTINE - JULY 31, 2025: Large crowds of Palestinians gathered near the Zikim Crossing on Thursday, July 31, where a limited shipment of humanitarian aid was brought in for distribution. The aid distribution point, established near the border, drew long lines of residents hoping to receive a share of the scarce supplies. Footage shows individuals carrying empty sacks and containers as they waited amid rubble and difficult conditions for their turn to collect aid. Israel has imposed a blockade on Gaza for 18 years and, since March 2, has shut down all crossings, blocking the entry of humanitarian aid and worsening conditions for the territory’s 2.4 million population. According to Gaza’s Health Ministry, at least 147 people, including 88 children, have died of starvation since Israel launched its relentless offensive in October 2023. In total, more than 60,200 Palestinians, most of them women and children, were killed. On Monday, Israeli rights groups B’Tselem and Physicians for Human Rights-Israel accused Israel of committing genocide in Gaza, citing the systematic destruction of Palestinian society and the deliberate dismantling of the territory’s healthcare system. Last November, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza. Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its war on the enclave.
