Demonstrators assembled in front of the Parliament building at Syntagma Square, chanting slogans such as “Freedom for Palestine” and demanding an immediate end to Israel’s strikes. Participants also condemned the recent police interventions against activists protesting Israeli tourists arriving via cruise ships to Greek islands. Greek actor Vasilis Kukalani, who joined the protest, told Anadolu Agency: “This is not the first attempt to destroy these people. They’ve been waiting for the opportunity for a long time, and now they have the support of the Western world. It’s reached a point where you can’t lie or pretend anymore. The intentions of Israel and Western powers are now very clear.” Lee Koveni, a volunteer activist from the "Stop the War" platform, said they were also protesting the pressure on pro-Palestine movements. Referring to police action on Rhodes Island, Koveni stated: “The activists are doing what’s right. They want Israel to stop the current genocide and end the starvation it has caused. We stand with Palestine on the right side of history.” Earlier this week, Israeli tourists arriving on cruise ships were met with protests on the Greek islands of Rhodes and Crete. Several demonstrators were detained by Greek police during those actions.
