A mom pranked her husband by passing him her best friends baby - to see how long it would take him to notice it wasn't his.

Mariah, 29, and her husband, Alex Miller, 34, were hosting their friends of 10 years for a BBQ.

The mom of three said she would joke that her friend's daughter, Elsie, seven months, looked like their daughter, Belle's, 10 months, twin.

So Mariah passed Alex baby Elsie, to see how long it would take for him to notice.

Busy with the BBQ, Alex didn't realize he was holding the wrong baby until he saw his daughter, Belle, run out of the house.

Mariah, a stay-at-home mom from Nashville, Tennessee, said: "I decided to prank him because he hadn't met my friend's baby yet."

"They were in town and we were hosting them for the weekend."

"When they arrived, Alex was at the store, so we all kind of had the idea to swap the babies' clothes and make their hair similar."

"I think it took him about two minutes to notice."

"I thought it was hilarious. I could barely keep it together."

"I honestly figured he would be too preoccupied with everything going on that it would take him a little bit to notice. I knew once he saw our daughter that it would click."

On July 19, 2025, Mariah and Alex were hosting their friend of ten years and their daughter, Elsie, for the weekend.

This would be the first time that the couple had met Elsie since she was born, so Mariah decided to prank Alex by handing him the wrong baby.

Mariah said: "My friend and I have joked for months that the twins need to meet."

"He was overwhelmed with a lot going on, seeing our friends that we haven't seen in months, cooking, hosting."

"He's truly the best father. It shows that he would just take his baby, no questions asked, with everything going on."

Busy with the BBQ, it wasn't until his actual daughter Belle walked out into the yard that Alex realized he was holding the wrong baby.

Alex said he was "taken aback" and then everyone burst into fits of laughter."

Alex, a construction company owner from Nashville, Tennessee, said: "I didn't think my wife would have handed me someone else's baby."

"As soon as I saw Belle come outside, I was taken back."

"I was like 'whose baby am I holding', I was oblivious."

"Everyone lost it, we were all laughing - it was really, really funny."
