Locals left their belongings on the floor to reserve spots in a queue at a book festival.

Footage captured by eventgoer Sanny shows a variety of items placed on the ground by festivalgoers to save their places in line at Samyan Mitrtown in Bangkok, Thailand.

Umbrellas, wipes, bags, mats and even boxes could be seen neatly placed on the tiles and steps ahead of the opening of the International Novel Festival on July 31.

Following the fan sign event, two actors from GMMTV were scheduled to meet with fans.

Sanny said: 'Even though the items were left in open spaces, no one took each other's places or stole anything. Fellow fans took turns watching over the belongings throughout the wait.'

The International Novel Festival, organized by GMMTV, runs from July 25 to August 3. The event is expected to feature over 1,000 booths, 2 million books, and a variety of activities.

Additionally, a new event, the Bangkok Literature Festival, will debut in November this year, focusing on literary exchange and cultural dialogue.
