US, Los Angeles: Jurupa Valley Wildfire With Evacuations Threaten Homes

Los Angeles, United States - August 08, 2025 08/07/2025 05:07 pm GMT-0700 JURUPA VALLEY, Calif. – Shortly after 5 p.m., Cal Fire Riverside/Riverside County Fire Department responded to the area of Granite Hill Drive and Camino Real in response to a brush fire. Fire crews arrived on scene and noticed a half-acre brush fire with a moderate rate of spread burning on the hillside. The fire quickly spread to 4 acres. At that time, the fire command requested 10 additional fire engines to the location. Fire Command also requested air resources to assist with the fire from overhead. Fire department hand crews arrived on scene to also assist with the fire. The fire is currently at 7.2 acres as fire crews continue to battle the flames. Evacuations are still in effect in the area. There is zero percent containment at this time. Fire crews will remain on scene overnight. Fire command requested additional units to help with the fire overnight. Units on scene are Cal Fire Riverside, Riverside Sheriff, Hemet Fire Department, Riverside City Fire, and the California Highway Patrol.
