Funny video captures a 19-month-old trying to help his baby sister get ready by putting on her socks - before giving up and toddling away.

Marlene Ferreras, 27, captured the amusing moment her son Julius eagerly tried to put socks on his five-month-old sister, Romy.

The mom-of-two said Julius is always ready to lend a hand, whether it's feeding Romy, helping her put on her hat, or simply giving her a hug.

But after two determined attempts, Julius abandoned the mission and wandered off.

Marlene Ferreras, from Tampa, Florida, said: "He's seen me putting socks on her before and he was trying to do the same thing."

"He has tried other times to feed her or put a hat on her."

"I started recording because I thought it was a cute moment of them both."

"I told him it was great that he tried to help put socks on his baby sister. It tells me he cares a lot about her."

"I thought that was a really sweet moment, and I felt proud."
