Watching water bombers fly overhead fighting the Jesenice wildfire near Split in Croatia
We are in Podstrana in Croatia on holiday. We woke to a wildfire raging nearby, in the hills above Jesenice, just down the road. We walked down to the police roadblock to see if we needed to move away. On the way, we watched water bombers scooping water from the sea and flying overhead to drop their loads on the fire just above us on the hillside.
