A train was forced to stop at Sevenoaks station, Kent, after the driver's cabin was impaled by a tree branch on August 25.

The footage captures where the branch had penetrated the train's exterior.

The filmer, Joel, told Newsflare: "Our commuter train hit a tree on the line outside London. We pulled into Sevenoaks station once the wheels were cleared and got off.

"On inspecting the damage to the front we realised that a branch had penetrated the train. Had it been slightly higher it would have gone through the driver's face!"

Joel was travelling from Staplehurst to London Bridge.

The Met Office issued a 15-hour yellow weather warning for thunderstorms and rain across Kent.
