Tourists witnessed an incredible night sky display as a fireball streaked across the sky - thought to be Elon Musk's Starlink 30199 satellite.

Brit Joshua Boreham, 18, was on a week-long holiday in Alicante, Spain, when he saw the bright lights tear across the sky last night (12).

He initially thought it was the Perseid meteor shower - and then the Chinese Jielong-3 rocket.

But now he suspects it could be part of the Starlink 30199 satellite.

The satellite was part of Musk's SpaceX Starlink constellation launched on July 10, 2023, and designed to provide broadband internet access.

Reports said the satellite reentered Earth's atmosphere over southern Spain on August 10, 2025.

Joshua, a Royal Air Force Trainee from Salford, Manchester, said: "I heard that there was a possibility of seeing something on social media, and I looked up at the sky and I just couldn't believe it. "

"I think everyone was quite oblivious to it, and I'm just so lucky that I was able to see it for the duration. "

"It was such an amazing experience and one that I will never ever forget."
