Marmot and dog play-fight in Inner Mongolia
This is the amusing moment a marmot and a pet dog were spotted play-fighting in Inner Mongolia.
A holidaymaker was strolling nearby when he noticed a groundhog and a Golden Retriever in a meadow near the Morigele River in Hulunbuir.
Footage shows the marmot standing on its hind legs as the dog walks past on June 11.
Moments later, the rodent can be heard chattering and squeaking loudly while the dog barks in response.
The brief standoff ended with the marmot retreating into the grass and the dog walking away as if nothing happened.
Marmots often make loud, sharp barks or chatter to assert dominance and warn rivals. They stand on their hind legs to appear larger and more intimidating.
