Indonesia - August 17, 2025 A 6.0-magnitude earthquake struck Poso Regency, Central Sulawesi, on Sunday (August 17, 2025) at 05:36 a.m. local time (WIB). The 6.0-magnitude earthquake was later revised to magnitude 5.8, with its epicenter located at 1.27° south latitude and 120.75° east longitude, precisely in the sea about 13 kilometers northwest of Poso City, at a depth of 10 kilometers. A total of 15 aftershocks have also been reported. The Central Sulawesi Provincial Disaster Management Agency (BPBD Sulteng) reported that 433 people, or 184 households, in Poso Pesisir District were affected by the 6.0-magnitude earthquake that struck Poso Regency, Central Sulawesi, on Sunday morning.
