This is the hilarious moment a beauty pageant hopeful had the crowd in fits of laughter with her air swimming routine.

Francheska Garing entertained the audience and judges with her shocking gimmick during a BPO company's Sportsfest and Family Day event in Cebu, Philippines.

Footage captured by Michael Encarnacion shows Francheska donning a one-piece swimsuit and goggles while modelling on stage, before turning her back to the audience on August 16.

She then performed a light stretch and assumed a diving start position as she was introduced by the host.

Moments later, she launched herself into the air, arms and legs sprawled midair.

Upon landing, she began flutter kicking and mimicking a backstroke while lying on her stomach, performing a 'swimming' routine on the floor.

The act sparked laughter from viewers, echoing throughout the Indiana Aerospace University Covered Court.

Michael said: 'Everything was calm, just a quick video to capture her final glam—until she suddenly did a full-on backstroke and dive right there on the court. Totally unexpected, totally unforgettable. Just goes to show that the real magic happens when no one's planning it.'
