3. VARIOUS OF FATHER OF DECEASED GIRL MOURNING GAZA STRIP, PALESTINE - AUG. 20, 2025: At least 5 people were killed in a Israeli attack on tents sheltering displaced Palestinians in the Karara area of Khan Younis, in southern Gaza, on Wednesday (Aug. 20).

Dozens of others, including children, were wounded and taken to Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis, where medical staff treated casualties on the floor due to overcrowding.

Among the victims was the daughter of a Palestinian man who broke down in grief outside the hospital.

Israel has killed more than 62,100 Palestinians in Gaza since October 2023. The military campaign has devastated the enclave, which is facing famine.

Last November, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.

Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its war on the enclave.
