Los Angeles, United States - August 19, 2025 08/19/2025 01:13 pm GMT-0700 POMONA, Calif. – Firefighters from the Los Angeles County Fire Department responded to a small brush fire on Prospect Drive, near the 71 Freeway. Upon the arrival of the first unit, the situation was immediately upgraded to a full brush fire, prompting the request for additional engines to assist. The fire rapidly spread to an outdoor building and posed a threat to nearby homes. Firefighters quickly escalated the incident to a second alarm, but later canceled this alarm after assessing the situation. They managed to contain the fire to an area between a half-acre and an acre, with no residential losses reported. However, one outdoor building was destroyed in the blaze. In recent weeks, the Los Angeles County Fire Department has responded to multiple outdoor fires in the same area. It is currently unclear if these incidents are related.
