"...The main thing is that, although we have had findings, it is not the first time, we have always struggled a lot with the issue of identification, there is a lot of delay in this matter, and we need to put more effort into identifying people because we do not know if our relatives are already in the Forensic Center of Mexico City, or the Forensic Center of the State of Mexico…." MEXICO CITY, MEXICO - AUG. 26, 2025: The Mexico City Search Commission and the State of Mexico Search Commission jointly searched for missing persons with the participation of more than 500 officials on Wednesday.

Family members of those searching for loved ones also took part in the operation. Human remains, clothing and animal bones were found and safeguarded by forensic teams from the State of Mexico.

For the first time, a care commission was established, made up of psychologists to provide psycho-emotional support for those in need.

The search operation employed canines, a geolocator to detect uneven ground, a backhoe to move earth and government drones to provide aerial visibility.

At the conclusion of the day’s work, families and participants held a prayer following the discovery of human remains.
