"My name is Abdulhalim Salama, from the Sheikh Radwan area in Abu Al-Amin. We are being displaced because of the constant bombardment day and night.

We really can’t endure it anymore. We have endured as much as we could, but we can’t take more.The Israelis keep sending messages every day, messages. But what else can we do? We have women and many children with us.

We really can’t handle it anymore. God knows what we’re carrying and suffering, and no one is helping us. No one is telling us what to do or where to go. We are just leaving, not knowing where we’re going. I am going out, not knowing where I’m going. I staying here, staying on the street. I have girls with me, young women, and I am living on the street. I don’t know where to go."

12. (SOUNDBITE) (Arabic) DISPLACED PALESTINIAN MAN, ABDURRAHMAN SALHA SAYING:

"My name is Abdurrahman Salha. We are completely exhausted. If you could see these people are carrying belongings, flour, mattresses, and we don’t know where to go.

I mean, I said, “To go,” but I don’t know where to. I could tell you “to the south,” but even then, we’re not sure. They tell us to go west, then to south, but our bodies and minds are tired. We really don’t know what the world will bring us. The war has trapped us. Why do we have to leave?

God knows we’ve already endured the war here; we’ve seen suffering, destruction, shelling, and we have children. We left to help our people, to go to them. But moving isn’t easy. The night passed, and the houses were in ruins. We were moving, trying to navigate through cars and obstacles. Every day there is something new; someone sees something, someone loses something, and we are left to deal with it. I don’t know what to do."

VARIOUS OF OVERLOADED VEHICLES AND PEOPLE CARRYING BAGS MOVING ON ROAD / DESTRUCTED STRUCTURE AT CENTER OF SQUARE GAZA, PALESTINE - AUG. 29, 2025: Palestinians continued their flight from northern Gaza Strip to the south on Friday, Aug. 29, as the Israeli army intensified its attacks and issued evacuation warnings.

Palestinians are moving from the north to the south of Gaza with whatever belongings they can carry.

"I am leaving, not knowing where I’m going," Abdulhalim Salama, who is displaced with his entire family, "I have girls with me, young women, and I am living on the street."

"People are carrying belongings, flour, mattresses, and we don’t know where to go," said another Palestinian man, Abdurrahman Salha, and added, "our bodies and minds are tired. We really don’t know what the world will bring us."

Israeli drones ordered civilians to evacuate to the south, but many refused, pointing to relentless strikes there and the absence of shelter.

The Gaza Government Media Office said moving south was “virtually impossible,” with shelters operating at more than 96% capacity and unable to absorb the 1.3 million people already displaced from Gaza City.

Israel’s full blockade of Gaza, in place since early March, has created catastrophic conditions for its 2.4 million residents, leading to famine, widespread disease and the collapse of essential services.

Israel has killed around 63,000 Palestinians in Gaza since October 2023. The military campaign has devastated the enclave, which is facing famine.

Last November, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.

Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its war on the enclave.
