Woman pulls mum away during gender reveal to let couple share moment
This is the hilarious moment a woman pulled her mum away during a gender reveal to let the couple share the spotlight.
The parent, 67, could not contain her joy when she found out she would be having a granddaughter at the party in Manila, the Philippines.
Footage shows Kathleen Claire Caneja and her husband standing behind a pink-and-blue balloon backdrop, waiting for the countdown to reveal the sex of their baby.
As family and friends counted down, pink smoke billowed into the air, announcing it was a girl on August 25.
Moments later, the visibly delighted mother, Lola, dressed in blue, can be seen waving her arms and holding her phone as she approached the pair.
She can be seen seemingly eager to hug her daughter and son-in-law as she jumps forward.
However, Kathleen's sister, Karen, immediately pulled her back by grabbing her clothes so the expecting parents could share a heartfelt embrace.
Kathleen said: 'We had it all planned to celebrate with immediate family and closest friends. Originally, guests were asked to stay on the second and third floors to clear the area for the reveal. However, the seniors opted to stay on the ground floor as it was more practical and safer.
'My mum is usually very well aware of party etiquette, but I feel like she got overexcited and ran towards us. My sister, being my trusted host, committee, organiser, turned crowd control, bouncer and pulled my mom back immediately because she wanted to prioritise giving ‘the moment' to my husband and me.
'My mom understood later on, and we hugged right after the reveal. I know it was just a spur-of-the-moment thing, and she didn't intend to steal the thunder from anybody. This became a laughing matter for family and guests for about three days now.'
