A ladder truck lost its balance when it was hit by a sudden gust of wind and toppled onto a playground in South Korea.

The 10-tonne vehicle being used to move household belongings from an apartment to avoid carrying them down the stairs in Bundang-gu, Seongnam City, on September 1.

But the weight of the ladder, capable of reaching up to 25 floors high, caused the vehicle to fall. Footage captured by a neighbour shows the long silver ladder lying across the ground as emergency crews assess the scene.

Emergency workers said the collapse damaged a parked car, the roof of a nearby commercial building, and several pieces of equipment in a public play area.

Officials believe that as the ladder was being extended, a strong gust of wind struck the apparatus, causing the vehicle to lose stability at around 8:52 am local time.

No injuries were reported, as the playground was unoccupied at the time.
