An Instagram video showing a motorcyclist rescuing a dog from busy traffic has struck a chord with viewers, earning over 1.3 million views and widespread praise for its quick-thinking heroism.

Instagram user 'chanclito_o3' was en route to work when a loose dog darted into the road, narrowly avoiding oncoming cars. With no owner in sight, he manoeuvred through traffic and managed to secure the dog with help from a passer-by who had also witnessed the near miss.

Just trying to get to work on my bike and a dog runs in the road in front of me, nearly getting hit by cars. Owner of the dog nowhere to be found yet I found a way through the cars and managed to grab hold of the dog with some help of a lady who also saw the dog nearly getting hit by a car. But we got some more help from another dog walker who told us he saw the owner of the dog up the road.
