Mexico City, Mexico - September 10, 2025 Video captured by George Rosas shows a gas pipe explosion beneath the La Concordia Bridge on September 10, 2025. Vehicles travel across the bridge as gas spreads below, culminating in a massive fire that engulfs the area. Flames reportedly soared up to 30 meters, leaving at least 19 people with burns and numerous vehicles ablaze. Emergency services rushed to the scene, and authorities partially closed the road to contain the damage. The explosion also disrupted traffic in the area and halted Metro service at Santa Marta station, highlighting the severity of the event and ongoing concerns about gas pipeline safety in Mexico, echoing incidents like the 2019 Tlahuelilpan explosion. George Rosas said: “Explosion at La Concordia. Iztapalapa, Mexico City. So far no deaths. More than 50 injured.”
