A gas pipe exploded beneath the La Concordia Bridge on September 10, 2025, in a fiery incident captured on video by George Rosas. Vehicles on the bridge were caught in the chaos as flames erupted from below.

The fire reached heights of up to 30 meters, injuring at least 19 people with burns and destroying multiple vehicles. Emergency crews responded quickly, and authorities partially closed the road to manage the scene.

Traffic in the area was disrupted, and Metro service at Santa Marta station was suspended. The incident raises concerns over gas pipeline safety in Mexico, recalling similar disasters such as the 2019 Tlahuelilpan explosion.

George Rosas said: “Explosion at La Concordia. Iztapalapa, Mexico City. So far no deaths. More than 50 injured.”
