According to the Dominican National Drug Control Directorate (DNCD), the drugs were recovered about 80 nautical miles south of Isla Beata in Pedernales province after a fast boat was intercepted and destroyed.
The DNCD said the operation was conducted with support from the Dominican Navy, US Southern Command, and the Joint Interagency Task Force South. Dominican prosecutors have launched an investigation into the case.
